Summer Read-A-Thon Day #21: BROKEN THINGS

Lauren Oliver has a knack for writing creepy, fascinating stories--PANIC, VANISHING GIRLS--and her latest novel, BROKEN THINGS, follows suit. BROKEN THINGS follows three girls, Brynn, Mia, and Summer--except Summer is dead, and everyone in their small town believes that Brynn and Mia murdered her five years ago. Banding together with some new and old friends, Brynn and Mia set out to find the truth of what happened to Summer all those years ago. I raced through this all in one sitting, and I loved every dark, twisty minute of it.

Summer Read-A-Thon Day #34: THE SECOND LIFE OF AVA RIVERS

Twelve years ago, Ava Rivers disappeared on Halloween night. So when Ava's family gets a call saying that she's been found, they're elated. But soon, Ava's sister, Vera, starts spending more time with her, and realizes some things aren't adding up. Overall, I just wasn't a fan of this one and couldn't connect to it, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Summer Read-A-Thon Day #36: THICKER THAN WATER

I...have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I liked the characters and I was super interested in the plot and finding out what happened. But the reveal was very odd and I feel like it didn't work at all. I'd say skip this one and read Brigid Kemmerer's other contemporaries, because they're much better than this one.
