TOGETHER AT MIDNIGHT Review

I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Castle's previous works (THE BEGINNING OF AFTER, WHAT HAPPENS NOW) and was super excited to jump into this one. TOGETHER AT MIDNIGHT follows Max and Kendall who, after witnessing a terrible accident and feeling that they could've done more to prevent it, set out on a quest to complete seven random acts of kindness before the year ends in just four days. Along the way they both discover secrets and truths about themselves, their families, and each other. This was such a terrific, triumphant novel that hit all the right notes. I loved following Max and Kendall on their journey, and seeing how much they grew. The perfect read for when you're snowed in, or even just wishing you were!

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence my opinion of the book or any part of my review.

Summer Read-A-Thon Day #34: THE SECOND LIFE OF AVA RIVERS

Twelve years ago, Ava Rivers disappeared on Halloween night. So when Ava's family gets a call saying that she's been found, they're elated. But soon, Ava's sister, Vera, starts spending more time with her, and realizes some things aren't adding up. Overall, I just wasn't a fan of this one and couldn't connect to it, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Summer Read-A-Thon Day #36: THICKER THAN WATER

I...have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I liked the characters and I was super interested in the plot and finding out what happened. But the reveal was very odd and I feel like it didn't work at all. I'd say skip this one and read Brigid Kemmerer's other contemporaries, because they're much better than this one.
